Who Can Apply for a FASTag Local Pass?
Digital Local Pass Now Covers 121 Toll Plazas
The first Digital Local Pass facility was introduced in July 2026 at the Mundka–Bakkarwala Toll Plaza on Delhi's Urban Extension Road-II. NHAI then announced on 18 August 2026 that the facility had been expanded to 121 toll plazas across India.
NHAI also said the facility would be extended to more toll plazas in the coming months. This means users should check the current official eligible-plaza list rather than relying on an old static list copied elsewhere.
How Does NHAI Check Your Address?
The digital system uses consent-based integration with government platforms including DigiLocker and VAHAN to retrieve and verify relevant information such as the commuter's residential address, vehicle details and linked FASTag.
The registered address is checked geographically to determine whether it falls within the prescribed 20 km radius of the eligible toll plaza. NHAI says this combination of verified digital data and GIS validation removes the need for manual documentation and physical verification.
FASTag Local Pass Online Steps
Use the official Rajmargyatra mobile app.
Start the online monthly Local Pass process for a supported toll plaza.
The digital process uses relevant DigiLocker/VAHAN information, vehicle details and the linked FASTag.
GIS-based validation determines whether the registered address is within the prescribed radius.
If eligible, review the applicable pass information presented by the official service.
Retain the confirmation for your records.

Why You May Not See a Local Pass
Do not guess at a rejection reason. First check the conditions that NHAI officially documents:
- The toll plaza must be one where Digital Local Pass is available.
- The registered residential address must satisfy the 20 km requirement.
- The process verifies relevant residential-address, vehicle and linked FASTag information.
- GIS validation is used for the distance test.
Where Is the Local Pass Available?
NHAI's August announcement says the Digital Local Pass is available at 121 toll plazas and directs highway users to its Rajmargyatra Local Pass service to check the eligible-plaza list.
Do not assume one universal nationwide Local Pass price. The NHAI expansion announcement does not publish a single all-India Local Pass amount. Review the applicable pass details shown for your selected eligible plaza before paying.
