KM 002 · WHAT IT MEANS

What Is OneTag FASTag Portability?

OneTag is a NETC FASTag portability solution launched to increase user choice. An eligible user can move to a different issuer while retaining the FASTag sticker already fixed to the vehicle, reducing the need for repeated tag production, dispatch and reissuance.

Earlier Issuer Change

Changing provider could involve closing the old relationship and obtaining another physical tag.

With OneTag

The physical NETC FASTag remains on the vehicle while the issuer relationship changes through the portability framework.

KM 004 · WALLET & REFUNDS

What Happens to the Old FASTag Wallet?

The official launch material does not describe the old wallet balance as automatically moving to the new issuer. Instead, it defines responsibilities for the previous and new issuer relationships.

EXISTING ISSUER

Previous Wallet & Transactions

The existing issuer handles customer verification and manages the previous wallet, refunds, pending transactions and related matters.

SELECTED ISSUER

New Onboarding

The selected issuer completes onboarding and provides services after successful portability.

Do not assume the old wallet balance automatically transfers. Follow the instructions from the existing issuer and the Rajmargyatra portability process.

KM 005 · WHO OPERATES IT?

IHMCL + NPCI + Issuer Banks

OneTag is a joint initiative of IHMCL and NPCI. NPCI provides the central technology framework, facilitates portability and updates issuer details in NETC. Toll acquirers and plazas continue processing transactions through the existing framework.

IHMCL / NHAI

FASTag ecosystem and Rajmargyatra service.

NPCI

Central portability technology and NETC issuer updates.

Issuer Banks

Verification, wallet/refund handling and onboarding roles.

KM 006 · BEFORE SWITCHING

3 Things to Check Before Porting

Old Wallet / Refund

Record your current wallet/account status and keep transaction references until pending matters are resolved.

Pending Transactions

Recent unsettled toll or recharge transactions remain matters for the existing issuer under the published framework.

New Issuer Terms

Review the onboarding information and services presented for the issuer you select before giving consent.

KM 007 · TOLL PLAZAS

Does OneTag Change Toll-Plaza Operation?

No new physical tag is required. NPCI updates issuer details within NETC while toll acquirers and toll plazas continue processing transactions through the existing framework. OneTag changes the issuer relationship; it does not replace FASTag itself.
